The ribbed rubber has just enough flex that I can turn my head without the hose kinking, which was my main worry. Feels fresh and pliable too, not that stiff old surplus stuff people warn you about.
Snapped right onto my mask and canister with no fuss, and the rubber still smells fresh instead of that old surplus rubber stink. The flex is stiff enough that it holds its shape but bends where I need it.
